Just west of Brighton’s city centre you will find the areas known as Brunswick and Hove, which are resplendent with acres of Regency townhouses, terracotta mansions and elegant mews, Brunswick is one of the city's most colourful quarters. In 1825 it blossomed into a town in its own right, complete with town hall, chapel, and market hall. Today it's a thriving community, boasting its own annual Brunswick Festival. Walking along Western Road and towards Palmeira Avenue, elegant interior design shops and exclusive restaurants sit comfortably with village greengrocers and hardware stores.

The peace statue on Brighton beachfront marks the entrance to Hove. Here the seafront takes on a leisurely feel with the beach huts and seafront lawns overlooked by the beautiful Regency architecture of Brunswick Square and Adelaide Crescent. Take a route up one of the wide Victorian avenues and stop off for a breather along the 'strip' - a mile of cafes and restaurants.
